Terms
Terms of service
Last updated October 11, 2026. These terms apply when you order from Card & Crumb or use the free card decoder. Card & Crumb is operated by Mounting Man LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("we", "us").
1. What we provide
Card & Crumb turns photos of recipe cards you upload into a designed cookbook. Keepsake Digital includes a digital PDF. Keepsake Hardcover includes the PDF and one printed hardcover shipped to a US address; extra copies can be added. Each book holds up to 60 recipe cards.
2. Your cards and your content
You keep all rights to your photos, recipes and text. You give us permission to store, process and print them only to make and deliver your book and to support your order. You confirm you’re entitled to use the cards you upload and that they don’t include anything unlawful.
3. AI-assisted transcription and your proof
We use an AI vision model to make the first transcription of each card. It is instructed to copy the card faithfully and to flag words it is unsure of, but it can still make mistakes. That’s why every order includes an online proof: you review each recipe beside its card photo, correct anything you need to, and confirm every flagged word before you can approve.
When you approve the proof, you confirm the book is correct and ready to print. After approval the book can’t be changed.
4. Printing and shipping
- Hardcovers are printed on demand by our print partner, Lulu, and ship to US addresses only.
- Printed colors can differ slightly from what you see on screen, and photos print as uploaded. A blurry photo will print blurry.
- Delivery dates we mention are estimates. Carriers and peak seasons can cause delays outside our control.
- Please give accurate shipping addresses. If a book can’t be delivered because an address was wrong, a reprint is charged at cost.
Payments are processed by Stripe. The charge appears on your card statement as RECIPEBOOK.
5. Refunds and reprints
- Changed your mind before submitting your card photos? We refund you in full.
- After you submit but before you approve, we refund the order minus the cost of work already done.
- Books are made to order, so we can’t refund them once printed. If a book arrives damaged or doesn’t match the proof you approved, tell us within 30 days and we’ll reprint it free.
6. The digital PDF
Your PDF is for you and your family to keep, share and print for personal use.
7. File retention
We delete card photos and book files 90 days after delivery, as described in our privacy policy. Please download your PDF to keep a copy. We can’t recover files after deletion.
8. The free card decoder
The decoder is offered as is, for personal use, with a daily limit. Please don’t submit anything other than recipe cards or anything you don’t have the right to share.
9. Liability
We take care with every book. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the version in force when you order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota. Questions? Email hello@recipecardbook.com.
