When families make one
The holidays
One book, a copy for each sibling. The first thing everyone opens and the last thing they put down.
A wedding or new home
Hand down the family’s recipes to the newest kitchen, in the handwriting of the people who cooked them.
A milestone birthday
Gather a parent’s or grandparent’s cards into a book they can hold, while they can tell you the stories behind them.
In memory
For many families, a recipe card is one of the few things left in a loved one’s handwriting. Keep it, and share it.
Making it a surprise
Gathering cards without giving it away
The cards usually live in someone else’s kitchen. A few ways families manage it:
- Photograph the recipe box during a visit. It takes about a minute a card.
- Ask relatives to text you photos of the cards they have. You can upload photos from anyone.
- Try the free card decoder on one card first to see how well a photo reads.
The proof is reviewed by whoever placed the order, so you stay in control of every word.
Start one this week.
Photograph the cards this weekend. Review your proof when it suits you. Nothing prints until you say so.
